StoryShape started because I couldn't find the one writing application that worked the way I wanted. The tools I tried each did some things well, but the features and workflows I needed were always scattered across different places.
So I decided to build it myself. It has grown into something I'm genuinely proud of, and I want other writers to enjoy it too.
The desktop application is free, and it will stay free, because I believe great writing tools should be accessible. The iPad app is a $4.99 one-time purchase, and that helps fund development. StoryShape is an independently developed, passion-driven project built through Iron Candle Interactive, and I'm committed to continuing to make it better.
StoryShape brings planning, worldbuilding, drafting, revision, and publishing together while keeping your projects in files you choose. Ordinary writing works offline, without an account, and your content remains yours.
