Development model update

StoryShape 1.0 is out: one desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, free forever, and an iPad app for $4.99 on the App Store. The rest of this update is kept as it was written. Get StoryShape.
StoryShape is moving to a privately maintained development model. The desktop application remains completely free, and our commitment to offline writing, user privacy, and ownership of your work is unchanged.
StoryShape’s source is maintained privately by Iron Candle Interactive, and the desktop apps on every platform use the StoryShape license. Previously published versions released under Apache 2.0 retain their original licensing rights.
We’re continuing to welcome bug reports, feature requests, and feedback from writers as StoryShape develops.
The macOS beta remains free. Free Windows and Linux development previews are now available, with parity and platform testing still in progress. The iPad app is in development and planned as a $4.99 one-time purchase; it is not available for purchase yet.
Writers keep full ownership of their manuscripts, notes, characters, and worldbuilding. StoryShape adds no advertising, telemetry, required account, DRM, or license activation check.
